Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I consider Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) and how does it work?
PDR is a process that allows dents in a vehicle’s exterior panels to be removed without disturbing the finish of the car. By maintaining the original finish, PDR eliminates steps in the repair process and is faster than conventional repair. Damage commonly fixed by PDR includes, but is not limited to: hail dents, door dings, and transport damage.
There are two main methods PDR techs use to remove dents. The first and most common is by utilizing special tools to apply pressure to the backside of the panel in order to maneuver the metal back to its original form. The second method pulls the dent out from the exterior side by bonding “tabs” to the dent and pulling outward. Using a combination of these techniques, our skilled technicians are able to restore panel appearance without refinishing the surface.
Can any dent be fixed?
Any dent where the paint is not broken may be a candidate for PDR. Sometimes, factors like accessibility to the backside of dent can inhibit our ability to fix a dent by PDR. These factors will be evaluated during the estimate process so that there are no surprises for you and we can best advise you on the repair of your car.
